Pittsburgh Travel Guide

Where to Stay:

Polymath Park: An unbelievable opportunity to experience the brilliance of Frank Lloyd Wright. Take a tour of Fallingwater, dine at Treetops, and then end the night by Lodging at one of the four amazing properties on site. You will fall in love with the architectural brilliance in the heart of nature. Prepare to be inspired, y'all.

Where to Shop:

Below is a list of some of my all-time favorite shops and vendors in Pittsburgh:

Tollgate Revival: My go-to for all things vintage leather.
Garden Style Living: An ever-changing collection of European-inspired treasures mixed in with sweet flea market finds.
FarmHowz: My go-to for gorgeous wooden tables in every possible style.
Mon Modern: Interesting high-style pieces perfect for all of our tabletop and shelving vignette needs.
Kinsey Vintage Market: Fun and perfect mix of handmade goods, vintage finds, and classic antiques. Mark your calendar for their next market, it’s a great thing to do here in town.
Shimsue Pickings: I have found everything from a set of 12 Knoll chairs to chalkboards, a farm-feeding bin, and quite literally my kitchen sink through these guys.
Tri-State Antique Store: Mid-century modern treasures
Construction Junction: It is full of rust, grit, spunk (... even the name!) and most importantly, salvage. These guys rescue as much as they can from the old buildings that are being redone around Pittsburgh.
Salvaged: Incredible and curated collection of building pieces and lumber.
Weisshouse: New and high-end pieces.

What to do:

Find the City View: Head up to Mt. Washington by car or Incline for unobstructed views of the city. Afterwards, go to Coughlin’s law for drinks and eats! Request the back patio to keep the city skyline in sight.

Visit a Museum: Pittsburgh has so many incredible museums that are guaranteed to inspire. Some of my faves: Andy Warhol Museum, Natural History Museum, Carnegie Museum of Art, and Mattress Factory.

Take a Flower Tour: Visit Phipps Conservatory to explore the beauty and wonder of nature.

Free Outdoor Concerts: Hartwood Ares hosts a free concert series all summer long on Sunday nights. Grab a blanket or chair, snag some food/drinks from the local food trucks, and cozy up as you listen to live music.

Get Out on the Water: Rent a Kayak, Schedule a Tiki Cruise, Hop on the Gateway Clipper, or make a boat-owning friend. Either way, get out there!

Rent a Bike: Take a Bike Tour around the city, stop for some food or drinks, appreciate the architecture, and take in some gorgeous waterfront views along the Pittsburgh Bike trails.

Take a trip to Market Square: Enjoy a 360 Skyscraper view from the center square. Grab a meal from one of the surrounding restaurants, or some ice cream from Millie’s

Go Shopping: Pittsburgh has some of the best, and most inspiring artists and creators. Stroll the city and its suburbs to find some new treasures for your home.
