Diy Limewash Wall Treatment
HOW TO DO IT
I’ll be the first to admit. This is some modern day sponge painting people, but ya know what, I was into it the first time! So let’s do it again!
Materials:
Spray Bottle
BEHR DYNASTY Paint in Studio Clay (sheen: matte)
BEHR DYNASTY Paint in Brown eyes (sheen: matte)
Water
Sponge, paper towels, something to "dab"/ blend darker paint (note - not anything too absorbent)
Paint roller (choose the size depending on the size of the space you are wanting to paint)
The wall is your canvas! Roll, dab, spray—a little goes a long way!
Roll on the your lighter color of paint (we used: “Studio Clay”) in a section, then dab some of your darker color ( we used: “Brown Eyes”) in a very small amount over top of the the lighter color, and start blending using your rag. If the paint starts to dry while you are blending, spray once over the area to keep it wet. Keep in mind to not over blend as the paint will start to "pull.”
Repeat this section by section of the room—we found it is best to do one whole wall at a time.
Allow the paint to fully dry and then style it out with pretty old vintage pieces.
Pro Tips:
The more you apply of your darker color in one spot, the darker the area will become. If it begins to get too dark for your liking you can always blend in more of the light color over the top to even things out.
Carry it on to the ceiling to give the space a vast feeling!
